Ultrasound Shows Anteverted Uterus, Hyperechoic Endometrium. Hysterectomy Suggested For Heavy Bleeding. Necessary?

I am 44 yrs old my ultra sound result says that I have an anteverted uterus measuring 4.8x6.1x5.0cm with irregular contour and heterogenous echopattern (cervix 3.0x1.9x1.9) the endometrium is hyperechoic and smooth 0.39 thick. The sub endometrial halo is intact there are atleast 2 myometrial lesions seen M1-2.6x3.0x2.5cm intramural with less than 10% mucus. anterofundal M2-2.0x1.8x1.9cm intramural with subserous component posterior midcorpus. The right ovary measures 1.63x0.93x2.03cm with no follicles seen. left ovary measures 2.43x1.52x2.75cm with 2 follicles measuring 1.37 and 0.46cm the cul-de-sac is smooth with no fluid noted.. they told me to have a hysterectomy as I have a heavy bleeding, is it necessary or is there any other option aside from hysterectomy.. PLEASE HELP ME!!!! THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR THE TIME..

Hi,
Thanks for the query.
They might have suggested hysterectomy, by taking in to consideration the factors like:
-You are having two symptomatic fibroids
-Your age
-Parity
So if you are having heavy bleeding, hysterectomy is a better choice.
If you donot want you can go for progesterone pills. They can help in reducing the symptoms and decreasing the size of fibroids. If this help you can continue for few months.
If the tablets are ineffective in relieving the symptoms, better to choose surgery.
