Ultrasound Of Abdomen Shoes Fatty Liver. Advised For Weight Loss And Diet Control. Taking Udiliv. Side Effects?

Hello Dr Samuel, I am 30yr old lady, Indian, mother of 2 kids. My recent Liver enzymes and lipids were elevated. A Ultrasound abdomen was done and they said i have fatty liver. Advised for weight loss and diet control. One Doctor suggested me to take UDILIV 300mg Twice daily for 3 mnths. Is this medicine a right choice for me?
Is it okay if i take this medicine as i am lactating now my younger baby who is 5 mnths old?. It has got any serious side effects?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi and welcome to HCM.
I would not recommend it during lactation as its effects on baby are not well investigated and it may have some bad effects. Fatty liver should be primary treated by changing lifestyle and dietary habits and medicines should be last choice. so eat healthier food, control your blood sugar and lipids, avoid alcohol and smoking and I am sure it will be fine soon.
Thanks for the query. Regards
