UTI, Pain During Urination, Frequent Urination. Will Taking Alprim Help?
i have been diagnosed with UTI , the doctor prescribed alprim. I have taken 3 tablets and I am not feeling any better. It is very painful to urinate and i feel the need to urinate constantly, I have also noticed blood in my urine I m waiting on pathology to confirm that I m taking the suitable antibiotic . Would the antibiotic i m taking at present start to clear this infection.

Alprim is Trimethoprim group of drug and is an antibiotic routinely prescribed in UTI
Please get your routine urine test and urine culture done to find out the organisms causing this infection and antibiotics to which they are sensitive to.
Please take broad spectrum antibiotics like Cefotaxime along with urinary antiseptic like Nitrofurantoin twice daily and urine alkaliser thrice daily.and later on switch on to appropriate antibiotics as per culture report.
Get the prescription of medicines from your family Physician.
Ensure to drink more water.To keep your urine dilute This will help to control dysuria.
