Twisted Ankle Due To Fall, Soreness, Nausea, Dizziness, Swelling, Bruising. Medical Attention Needed?
I went over on my ankle yesterday by falling down the stairs in school. It was extremely painful and took about 10 minutes before I could walk on it but still remained sore. It s the next day and I am still in a lot of pain followed by nausea , dizziness and weakness. My ankle is swollen, slightly bruised but there is no deformity , it is possible to put weight on it. Should I go and see my doctor?

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement, Dr. Saurabh Gupta's Response
Hello.
Thanks for posting your query.
I am Dr.Saurabh Gupta and I am pleased to answer your query.
Without X-ray, it is difficult to differentiate a fracture from others. I suggest you to consult an orthopaedician nearby for a detailed examination. You may get the X-ray of the area affected under his/her guidance.
In the interim, apply ice packs to the affected area,anti-inflammatory drug like motrin to reduce pain and inflammation. Avoid putting weight and rest well.
Wishing you good health...
Regards.
Dr Saurabh Gupta
