Welcome to HCM.
I think you might be having an ankle sprain
I advice you rest as it prevents further injury and avoids stress on already inflamed tissue. Applying ice to the injury will help decrease pain. Ice counteracts the increased blood flow to the injured area. It reduces swelling, redness
, and warmth. Elastic wraps such as Ace bandages immobilize the ankle. Do not apply wraps too tightly. Ideally, prop the ankle up so that it is above the level of the heart. Anti-inflammatory pain medications such as ibuprofen
will reduce the pain and combat swelling.
If the above mentioned measures does not help or the severity increases i advice you to see orthopedic surgeon to rule out any hair line fracture
. It can be diagnosed by x ray, and help in confirming the exact diagnosis.
Hope I have provided the information you needed.
Wish you good health. Take care.
