Trying To Conceive, Delayed Periods, Periodic Pain And Pressure In Lower Abdomen, Negative Pregnancy Test. Ectopic Pregnancy?

Hi, I am 8 days late for my period, which is very unusual. My husband and I are trying to get pregnant. I have taken home pregnancy test but they ve all been negative. For the past two days I have been having on again off again pain and pressure in my right lower side of my abdomen . Could this be an ectopic pregnancy? Should I go to the emergency room?

Hello.
Thanks for writing to us.
Pain and pressure on the lower side of abdomen are likely to be related to a premenstrual syndrome. Since your pregnancy test is negative, ectopic pregnancy ios not likelyu. Over the counter anti spasmodic might help you.
I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you.

Hello. Thanks for the question.Right lower abdominal pain can be due to various causes like kidney stone, appendicitis, ovarian cyst, colitis and also ectopic pregnancy etc .Ideally this should be investigated with sonography.I think you should get it done sooner to know the cause of pain.An appropriate treatment can be planned after that. Thank you.

Hi,

It could be an ectopic pregnancy. And yes, you need to go to the ER.

Get well soon.
