Treatment For Respiratory Discomfort With History Of Asthma?

Hello Doctor, Thanks to you in advance, for your help, offered on line.
I am a male, age 65, weak and frail body. I have a history of Asthma and Bronchitis. But these ailments are very much in control due to Inhalers once a day, like Aerocort and Foracort.
But I am suffering recently with a strange symptom in winter ( cool climate). When I breath in and out, the internal skin of my breathing Air- Track gets a tender uncomfortable inflammatory feeling. I feel like stopping my breathing, at once. The feeling is like uncomfortable touch sensation on a wet wound, as if air breeze is blowing on the wound. My doctor checked me. I have no wheezing or no cough, no cold. No chest congestion. Only my usual body-ache and tiredness. So he has prescribed to me just one Tablet called Vitaresp. I will take it once a day from tomorrow. I have feeling that there is some sort of strange inflammation on the internal skin of my air track. Please advise.
Regards, Avinash Bhosekar. (Pune India)

Thanks for your question on Health Care Magic.
I can understand your concern.
Asthma and bronchitis both are inflammatory lung diseases. Airway inflammation is the basic pathology in them.
And both are worsening more in winter months. This is due to viral infections and cold weather.
So better to get done annual Influenza vaccination before winters to prevent recurrent viral infections.
Get done PFT to rule out worsening of inflammation. If it is worsening then you may need additional extra bronchodilators during winter months.
So consult pulmonologist and discuss all these.
Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
