Treatment For Glucoma?
I WAS TOLD I AM SUSPECT FOR gLAUCOMA. I AM 76 YEARS OLD AND IN GOOD HEALTH. WHAT DO YOU RECOMMEND AS TREATMENT. THE EYE DOCS HAVE BEEN WATCHING MY OPTIC NERVE FOR OVER 12 YEARS.
I WEAR GLASSES ... PROGRESSIVE LENSES. I HAVE DRY EYE AND I DO WARM COMPRESSES 3-4 TIMES A WEEK FOR 15 MINUTES AND I HAVE USED RESTASIS A.M. AND P.M. FOR AT LEAST 13 YEARS. WHAT CAN YOU TELL ME? THANK YOU.

Since you are 76 years old elderly individual, glaucoma needs to be considered as some variants are known to occur in elderly people.But i advice you to go for few tests like measurment of intraocular pressure, optic disc evaluation and if suspicion after the initial examination some investigations like visual fields, retinal nerve fibre layer analyisis. After all these tests and investigations diagnosis and prognosis of the disease can be made. I recommend you to consult glaucoma specialist or ophthalmologist for further evaluation
