Hi!
welcome to HCM!
Your child seems to be suffering from gastroenteritis.Gastroenteritis or infectious diarrhea is characterized by inflammation of the gastrointestinal tract , resulting in some combination of diarrhea, vomiting, and abdominal pain and cramping. Dehydration may occur as a result.
Viruses (particularly rotavirus) and the bacteria Escherichia coli and Campylobacter species are the primary causes of gastroenteritis. There are, however, many other infectious agents that can cause this syndrome.
Determining the exact cause is usually not needed as it does not alter management of the condition. However, stool cultures should be performed in those with blood in the stool.
Gastroenteritis is usually an acute and self-limiting disease that does not require medication. The preferred treatment in those with mild to moderate dehydration is oral rehydration therapy (ORT).You must give your child ORS to keep hydrated.Hope this helps!
