Dentist 's  Response
Your tooth seems to be infected. The infection has resulted in swelling. The treatment for the tooth is Root canal treatment or extraction of the tooth under antibiotic coverage. The swelling would subside with the antibiotic coverage and treatment of the tooth.Consult your dentist and obtain the required treatment immediately.

Dentist Dr. Vishal Jain's  Response
Hi Vanessa,

Dont take your problem lightly.
As you are having swelling of the face from the tooth abscess that suggest that you have cellulities of that area.
Antibiotics will only subside the symptoms of pain, fever, swelling but not cure you from this problem.
you have to visit your dentist for getting the particular tooth treated with RCT and proper restoration over that so that it will not happen again.

welcome to healthcare magic,
the decay could have involved your pulp (nerve region), better go for rct and cap your tooth after examining with a xray of that tooth. take care
