Took Norlevo After Unprotected Sex. Spotted Brown Bleeding. Periods Not Due. Pills Side Effect Or Implantation Bleeding?

Hi, I had taken norlevo and it was within 72hours after unprotected sex. It has been around 6-7days since I took the norlevo but this morning (1 week after) I spotted dark brown bleeding. My period should have come on about 11 days more. Is it the pills side effect or I'm worried that is it the implantation bleeding? Hope you can help. Thanks a lot.

Hello,

Dark brown bleeding is due to withdrawal effect of the Norlevo pill. It is quite common and natural phenomena. However, your next period may be delayed for 1-2 weeks due to hormonal imbalance.

You need to wait for next period. If it is delayed more than 1 week, you can undergo one home pregnancy test to be sure. Maintain genital hygiene.

Practice safe sex in future. Good luck.
