hello,
Mifepristone 200mg including other 4 tabs are abortifacient drugs and if you took those, causes separation of implanted embryo or defected fetus leading to abortion. But sometimes, fetus may survive in spite of using 1/2 tabs and it varies.
So check fetus viability by doing USG or TVS as soon as possible. Also have to check for any birth defect.
If FPP and other things are well, then you may continue pregnancy.Consult with your gynecologist and take advice accordingly.
Do periodic check up after that along with taking folic acid and vitamins in early wk.
Be well.

OBGYN Dr. Aarti Abraham's  Response
Hello
I appreciate your query.
The decision to abort a baby is a highly complicated and emotional one, hence please stabilize yourself , reconsider and arrive at a final decision
If, for some reason, you take the Mifepristone and then decide you will not take the Misoprostol part of the medical abortion regimen, there are a few things that could happen.

1-You might experience a complete abortion without ever taking Misoprostol, as sometimes it suffices to cause the procedure.

2-You might experience a missed abortion, which means that the fetus is no longer viable, but the products of pregnancy (blood, tissue) do not leave your body. You would then require surgical termination of pregnancy.

3- It is also possible that your pregnancy might continue. If you decide you want to keep the pregnancy at this point, it is unlikely that the Mifepristone will cause later fetal malformations, as no major studies have demonstrated that Mifepristone is a teratogenic agent. Although, Misoprostol is definitely teratogenic.

If at all you do have a continuing viable pregnancy, you need to be watchful for proper antenatal surveillance of the baby at various milestones.
All the best for your decision.
