Tonsillitis, swollen gums behind my front teeth, redness. Related symptoms?

Hi, over the last three days I ve had tonsillitis and last night I noticed swelling on my gum behind my front teeth and when I look at my gums from the front, a bit if the gum in between the teeth looks slightly more red and puffy than the rest of my gums. Is this related to tonsillitis? If not do you have any idea what has caused this?

Thanks for asking the query,

Swelling of gums indicates inflammation of the gums known as gingivitis it shows symptoms such as bleeding gums, redness, swelling, pain and sensitivity, recession of gum, exposure of tooth surface.

It can also be related to infection in the front tooth, or due to poor oral hygiene due to plague and calculus deposition ,
I would suggest you to get a clinical evaluation done, take an x-ray of the tooth,
If the infection is arrising from tooth get RCT treatment done.
Go for complete mouth scaling, polishing, root planing and curretage.
Use antiseptic mouthwash twice daily.

Hope this helps out.

Thanks for writing to us.

Swollen gums behind front teeth may occured due to-periodontitis due to plaque deposition or periapical spread of caries.

I would suggest you to get a thorough clinical evaluation by a dentist.

Get scaling as well as drainage of pus done.

Root canal treatment is indicated if necessary.

Meanwhile,maintain oral hygiene well.

Brush and floss your teeth as well as tongue daily.

Hope this helps.
