Hi,

Thanks for writing to health care magic.

First thing we should take care of in this scenario is dehydration.

Monitor for signs of dehydration.
They include
1. Decreased skin turgor
2. Increasing thirst.
3. Sunken eyes.
4. Irritability.
5. Drowsiness.
6. Decreasing passage of urine.

Continue to give ORS or any fluid with salt and sugar for dehydration.

If there is blood or mucus in the stool or if there is fever along with pain while passing stool we consider dysentry and treat with antibiotics.

If there is only green color stool we need not worry about it and this only indicates increased bowel motility.

Hope this helps.
Take care.

Hi,

Thank you for your query on Healthcare Magic.

Your child again developed gastroenteritis.

I advise you to go for stool investigation for routine, culture, and for reducing substtances.

Give sips of oral rehydration solutions like Pedialyte to maintain dehydration.

Probiotic like saccharomyces or lactobacillus can be given 1 to 2 sachets per day orally.

Continue Zinc in prescribed dosage for 2 weeks.

And consult your Pediatrician for the assessment of your child and for the specific treatment.

Hope I have answered your query.

Regards.
