Tiredness, Fatigue, Dry Brittle Thinning Hair, Dry Skin, Weight Gain. Thyroid Normal. Problem?

Hi. went to my doctor for tiredness fatigue dry brittle hair and sever thinningand outer 3rd of my eyebrow loss and 15 pound weight gain.over month period. My friend who has hypothyroid said she had similar symptoms family doc said my thyroid tests were normal, except for my mch 33.6 and mcv of 100 said I shoul dsee a hemotologist. other results as follows.
tsh 2.19 vit b12- 561 hct 43.4 mch 33.6 mcv 100 mchc 36.7
t4 1.25 ferritin 38 rbc 4.36 uibc140 tibc 220
folate 14.3 hgb 15 rdw 13.6

i was told my thyroid was and i am not anemic. i have an appointment to hormone levels with obgyn as welll hematology appt. since my family doc said its stress or hormones, what else coiuld cuase dry brittle thinning hair , eyebrow loss tireness, fatique joint aches and dry skin

Hi

It seems that you may be having a condition that is affecting the mucous membranes, skin and cartiliages. It may be an auto-immune disorder or it can be a generalized granulomatous infection like tuberculosis or maybe a fungal infection.

I think it you should go for evaluation of your immunity by getting tests done like complete blood count, immunoglobulin levels, etc. Lifestyle changes to boost the immunity will help like regular exercise, more fruits and vegetables in diet, multivitamin supplements. If immunity is low then we need to take precautions to avoid recurrent infections, like regular use of hand sanitizer, clean drinking water, etc.
