hello vappleyard, the skin problem you are having could simply be a mite infestation, called scabies which could easily be cured by single whole body application of permethrin 5% lotion or gamma benzene hexa chloride with a minimum contact time of 2hrs or overnight application, the contacts who are affected may be similarly treated, and if it is persisting you must see a dermatologist and if you are having a fever you must be investigaed for viral exanthem and necessary symptomatic treatment will be prescribed
