Tingling Down Both Arms To Finger Tips With Pain, Neck Problem. MRI Scan Shows Annular Disc Bulge

I am an NHS ambulance driver and have been of work due to a neck problem. My MRI scan shows an annular disc bulge at c5-6 c6-7 levels. There is no compression on the cord shown. However my symptoms have been , tingling down both arms to my finger tips, with intense pain down my left arm. My GP has forwarded this information to Kings Hospital London. My question is that I miss work can I continue my progress back to work fully, if I do will I be putting myself and my patients at risk ?? manual handling of patients is a daily chore. There has been no power loss from my grip, now that I take medication to control the pain. secondly, there has been no explanation as to how this came about . Weather through injury or other . Can you explain that from me please

Hi,
Thanks for asking query on health care magic.
Though there no compression of the cord, compression of the nerve roots can give rise to these symptoms.
Once the compression is released you will be back to normal and you can continue your work as usual.
This is not an infectious disease and your patients are not at risk.
Hope this answer will serve your purpose.
I shall be happy to answer any more queries.
Take care.
