Tightness in neck, redness around scar, swollen, lumpy, normal symptoms after thyroidectomy ?

I had a thyroidectomy 13 months ago. I still have tightness in my neck , redness around scar and neck feels swollen and lumpy. Is this normal after a year?

Scar formation can occur as a result of any surgical procedure and this scarring would cause the tightness that you are experiencing.

The lumps that you are feeling are also likely related to the formation of scar tissue within the wound.

It can take a long time for this to resolve and it may not do it completely.

You can consider speaking to your doctor about your concerns.
