Thumb Injury, Severe Pain, Numbness, Stiffness, Swelling In Palm Area. Cure?

Hi, I was playing basketball today and I jammed my thumb . It hurt immediately after and then went numb for a bit and I carried on playing, just a little less aggressive and a bit more careful to protect my thumb. Now, about 5 hours later, it s stiff, a bit swollen by the joint/palm area, and I can t grasp anything, not even flipping a light switch.

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hello.
Thanks for writing to us.
It seems that you have suffered a bone injury in the area. You need to get an X-ray of the area done for proper diagnosis. Till then do a cold compress in the area and take a mild pain killer for relief.
I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you.
