Throat is not really sore but i am coughing a lot

My throat is not really sore but I am coughing a lot. It was sore a few days ago but not anymore. Every time I cough, it feels like I am coughing because there is something in my throat. I think it might be because of mucus or something. I don t know why I am coughing so much. It happens a lot at night before I go to sleep and in the morning before I wake up. I drink a lot of water and the coughing does not stop. I do not have a fever or anything. I have been sick for a week now. Every morning I wake up with a lot of that mucus in my eyelashes. I am 15, 140 lbs. and 5 foot 5.
