Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hello, kicking needs extension of knee joint and it seems you have injured your extensor mechanism i.e. quadriceps. You need to see a orthopaedics for clinical check up to find out the exact location of tenderness, power in muscle groups and if needed a MRI to diagnose the amount of tear if any.

Hello and Welcome to HCM,
Thanks for writing to us.
It seems some injury to the quadriceps muscles which involved in kicking mechanism(extension of knee).I would suggest getting this evaluated by an orthopedician for an accurate diagnosis and appropriate management. You may get the MRI of the area affected under his/her guidance.
Hope this helps you.
Wishing you good health...

Hi friend,
Welcome to Health Care Magic

Localisation, pain on movement, tenderness - all point to muscle injury at the site.
See an orthopaedician - for proper assessment / they may infiltrate the area...
Rest, warm compress and Non Steroidal Anti Inflammatory Drugs can help in the mean time

Take care
Wishing speedy recovery
God bless
Good luck
