The Day After My Angiogram I Noticed A Swelling Above My Waist. Caused By Angiogram?

The day after my angiogram I developed a swelling the size of an orange above my waist on the right side. It was painful for a few days now it s more of a dull ache. It looks like a hernia but the Dr. says he doesn t think it is. It appears to be some kind of soft tissue injury. Can the angiogram have caused this.

Hi,
Thanks for writing in.

If there is swelling in the region above waist on the same side as needle puncture and if it appeared suddenly after the angiography then it might be related to the needle puncture. If it was present before angiography then it is more likely to be a hernia. The findings can be confirmed by doing an ultrasound scan of the region.
