Testicular Pain, Back Pain, Soreness, Throbbing Pain, Swelling, Urination Burns, Discomfort. Had An Ultrasound, No Physical Stress?

Hi, approximately 5 weeks ago i started to pain in my left testicle around the back/underside, it started off as a fairly mile soreness but developed into a throbbing pain which at its worst radiated to my low abdomen and seemed to get worse as the day went on. There was now apparant swelling although the tubes around the back of the left testicle seem to feel different to the right, e.g. more bumpy in my opinion. I saw my Dr who reommended i take ibuprofen and made an appointement for an ultrasound for me. Over the three weeeks waiting for the appointment the pain eased but was still constant but sometimes it felt sore, other times more of an ache. It felt worse under strain for example when lifting relatively light items e.g. 5-10 kg or when i had to bend down or twist my body. I had the ultrasound and the man who did the ultrasound said everything was fairly normal with nothing serious to worry about though there may have been some kind of infection of the epididymis, i am awaiting still the official results. II also gave a urine sample the results of which were normal. The last week or two i seem to have developed a mild burning in the urethra near the tip of penis and sometimes near the base of the penis, the burning increases during urination but is still mild. Sex has been possible when the pain isn't bad but not if flares up, no pain on ejaculation though again some burning. I have also had some discomfort in my perineal are the last week or so, this may be ralted to piles, the testicle pain is what really worries especially as myself and my girlfriend are trying for a baby. I am wearing more supportive underwear than i did before the pain, this seems to help somewhat. Before i developed the pain i was doing regular weightlifting 3-4 times per week so thought at first chemical epididymitis may have been a possibly, my Dr didnt seem to concerned when i said i had been doing heavy lifitng. My girlfriend and i are std/sti free after being treated for chlamydia at the start of our relationship and in any case i was tested for chlamydia during tmy recent urinalysis. The only other factor to mention is that approxiamately two months before the testicle pain started my girlfriend and i had unprotected anal sex, usually if we have anal sex we would use a condom but on this occasion we didn't, i washed my penis afterwards. I didn't mention it when i saw my Dr as it didn't occur to me as it was at leaast two months prior. I haven't been given any antibiotics, i took ibuprofen three times per day for three after seeing my Dr but have eased up on that at the moment and am taking it once a day. I would like to go back to weight training as soon as i can but have not done any or any other kind f exercise since this all started.

Hello
Thanks for your query.Based on the facts that you have posted it appears that you have developed infection of the epididymis ( Epididymitis). You have been taking Ibuprofen and got relief .
However the diagnosis of epididymitis can be confirmed only on clinical examination and ultrasound scanning.
Please consult qualified general Surgeon or Urologist for clinical evaluation.Your present problem of burning urination and pain in perineal region looks to be due to UTI secondary to Epididymitis.
Please take broad spectrum antibiotic twice daily to combat the infection along with Ibuprofen that you are taking now.,
Do not worry it will get resolved in 2-3weeks.Till then avoid any sexual activity.
