Teenager. Backache Followed With Chest And Neck Pain, Worsened With Deep Breathing. Anxity Attack Or Heart Related?

Hey, I'm a teenage girl, and at school today, at around 2pm, I got a bit of backache. I thought nothing of it as it wasn't extreme, and carried on until I got home at 4pm. I then started to get small chest pains, and thought nothing of that, too, as I assumed it was some sort of growing pains. After my tea at 5pm, I did some running on my treadmill as I haven't been doing much exercise recently, and afterwards I realised my chest pains had got worse. I laid down on the sofa and breathed deeply, finding the pain worsened when I did so. I then started to freak out and searched online for possible causes. I found lots of links about heart attacks and all kinds of things relating to lung conditions and problems in the arteries. The pain spread to the back of my neck as well and I really started to worry. I had another rest but couldn't seem to make the pain go away. I had a 5 minute panic attack - which I'm prone to - and began to question whether or not my symptoms are related to anxiety or a heart problem. It's about 8:10pm now and I still have back, chest and neck pains. I'm not sure what these could be related to and I'm extremely worried. Thank you.

Hello dear,

Chest pain can be caused by various reasons, including minor problem such as indigestion or stress, to serious medical emergencies such as a heart attack.

Other causes of chest pain include:
1. Strained chest muscles due to overuse
2. Chest muscle injury
3. Short-term, sudden anxiety with rapid breathing
4. Peptic ulcer disease
5. Pain from the digestive tract, such as esophageal reflux

So, it will be better to consult a Doctor & get a physical examination done to rule out other causes. So that proper management steps could be taken.

Wishing you a Good Health. Let me know if I need to clarify further.
Thanks & take care
