Tear In Frenulum, Bleeding. Applying Neosporin. Teaching Swimming. Advice To Prevent Infection?

Please help! Im 23 yr old, i was having sex with my girlfriend and my frenulum teared a significant amount and was bleeding tremendously its been two days since the accident, the bleeding had completely stopped yesterday and i just started to apply neosporin tonight, my concerns are infection since i teach swim lessons in a pool, any advice to prevent infection. What are the symptoms of infection on frenulum wound, should i see a doctor right away or let it heal on its own, how long is the healing process?
