Taking Pregnacare In First Trimester. Any Side Effects?

Hi, I have been told (by a friend referring to her doctor) that it is better not to take a prenatal vitamin during the first trimester. I am using pregnacare since before conception and it contains both vitamin D and iron. borge of which she said are not advisable in early pregnancy and that I should only take folic acid . Is that correct?

Hi,
Welcome to HCM,
There is no problem taking multivitamin supplements, folic acid and iron during first trimester of pregnancy.
You can avoid Iron if you are not anemic as there is chances of having constipation. If you are anemic then you can iron capsule having other salt and well tolerated.
You can continue with Pregnacare.
Ok and bye.
