Taking Laxatives For Long Time. Effect On Conceiving?

Hi my wife has been abusing laxatives for 2 years and has been taking up to 30 a day and she now fears that she can not get pregnant due to the affects on her body so she and I have been trying to limit her taking them and have got down to 25 a day. We have been trying to get pregnant and have had multiple positives on pregnancy tests only to have them vanish a few days later ... we believe through research these lines are chemical pregnancies are they a result of the laxative abuse

laxative may be of different types.
its not clear what types you are using.
no problem i will give you a idea.
bulk forming are safer.
irritants like castor oil may cause abortion.
they increses uterine contractions.
so it should be avoided.
some others like bisacodyl also should not be used.
but as there is repeated negative preg test after being positive she should stop abusing laxative.
isphagula husk is can be used safely.
so if she is using them she can shieft to 2-3 tea spoon full of isphagula husk at night.
consult a gynaecologist who is practicing infertility.
no need to worry.
wish her a safe pregnancy.

hello,
yes taking laxatives in overdose can cause high chances of infertility,
even eating disorders will result in cases of infertility,as it causes mood swings and hormonal imbalance same with laxative abuse causes change in mood and hormonal imbalance leading to reduced changes of conceiving.
would suggest visit a gynecologist for further investigations and also be explained methods of how to conceive.
