Taking Suboxone For Chronic Alcoholism, Opiate Dependency. Generic Name Of Suboxone, Imprints On Each Side?

Yes. What is the generic name for Suboxone? What are the imprints on each side of them? I have taken Suboxone for 5 years now for Chronic Alcoholism & Opiate Dependency. I was just given the "generic" form & need to make sure that is in fact what they gave me. My Dr & I had discussed a generic brand last month, he didn't mention he would be changing my medication today. It was so much cheaper! Just seems a little too good to be true. It is a white round tablet with 155 on one side & the other looks like a crescent shaped moon - maybe - on the other side. Please help!!!

Thanks,

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Generics are cheaper than brand drugs. Generics are copies of the brand drugs that have the same dosage, intended use, similar side effects, route of administration and strength as the original drug.

Because of slight differences in manufacturing there may be some variation in effects.

Generic drugs have to monitored to ensure they are safe, just like branded medications. They are cheaper because the particular company did not have to spend alot of money on marketing or developing a particular drug.

In terms of the markings that you are seeing, they are usually specific for the company that is making the medications.

I hope this helps
