Taking Oxetol 300, pregnant. Is there side effects of taking oxetol 300?

I am taking Oxetol 300 regularly since last 6 months. I am 4 months pregnant now. At the time of pregnancy i have consulted both my neurologist & Gynaecologist , both said there is no side effect.Now i am in my mother s place and consulted another Neurologist, he said Oxetol 300 should not be taken during pregnancy. I am bit confused, pl advise

We need to understand that there is a risk to the baby by both the anti-epileptic drugs as well as the epileptic fits. However, the risk to the baby is much more with the fits as compared to the medicines.

So, the current recommendation is to continue medicines to control epileptic fits throughout the pregnancy.

The risk to the baby with medicines is the highest in the first three months of pregnancy. After that, the risk is almost nil.

Oxetol (oxcarbazepine) is a safer drug in pregnancy. So, there is no need to worry. However, please continue to take folic acid tablets.
