Taken Fluconazole For Red Rashes Along The Incision Area. Does It Work?

I have just recently had surgery and developed an itchy red rash along the incision line, it is in my groin crease so has now spread to my privates. I've taken one fluconazole and some of the itchyness has gone away but not completely, does this normally take a day or two to completely work

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hi

You seem to have developed a fungal infection.

Yes you are right that oral tablets will take some time to work.
It would be better if you some topical antifungal cream as well in order to have early recovery from the infection.
Taking both oral and topical antifungals together will help in early healing of the skin rash.
Avoid using any oils or creams over the affected area.
Keep it clean and dry.

Hope it helps
