Take Cefalexin For Chronic Cystitis. Have Blood In Urine Whenever Tested. How To Cure?
I have chronic cyctitis and live on a daily pill of Cefalexin. This has been for over 10 years. I had renal colic last December but after a scan at a later date nothing was shown, kidneys were healthy. I still have blood in my urine when ever it is tested. Is this alright?

I donot understand that why you are taking antibiotic(cefalexin) for such a long time.Moreover this is not the appropriate dose of this antibiotic.The rational thing will be to go for a culture & sensitivity of urine after a complete stoppage of any antibiotic for at least 10 days as a wash out period of effect of any antibiotic.You should take a complete treatment with the specific antibiotic as shown in the report of culture &sensitivity.
