Swollen tonsils with white spots, no pain, right tonsil turning black. What caused this?

I have big tonsils to begin with and now they are infected again, the only weird thing this time is that they are very swollen and have white spots all over them like normal but I feel totally fine, I have no fever and my tonsils are not even throbbing with pain like normal, and my right tonsil looks like its turning a dark color now, just wondering what is going on
