Swollen, Tight Knee, Painful. Previous Cartilage Shatter. Advise?

My knee is swollen and tight. I shattered my cartilage twice before in the same knee, but when the pain and swelling began I was fine just minutes after. It's not hot to the touch, so I know it can't be a infection, but the pain is unbearable when I straighten it or put any kind of pressure (standing, walking ext.) on it.

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hello.
Thanks for writing to us.
The symptoms in the knee that you have now could be due to arthritic changes in the knee joint after the injury. A decrease in joint lubricants and mild inflammation can also cause these symptoms.
I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you. You can consult me again directly through my profile URL http://bit.ly/Dr-Praveen-Tayal
