Swollen Arm, Painful To Touch. Taking Prednisone And Antibiotic. Tendonitis?

I have a swellimg about 3 inches from my wrist on the top of my arm. It is painful to the touch. I can do certain things with my hand and arm that do not seem to bother me at all, while other things are so painful that it brings tears to my eyes. I am concerned about tendonitis as my doctor put me on prednisone and an antibiotic combination with that as a risk. Although it talked about the achilies.
