Swollen Ankles, Severe Cramping Pain In Thigh. Diagnosed Sciatica On Right Side. On Cocodimol. Advice
On Tuesday last I was diagnosed with sciatica on my right side (the worst pain is in my upper thigh)- I had been suffering for about a week before hoping it would go away - problem now my ankles are swelling badly. I am on cocodimol to help ease the pain - which can work for a while but I am still suffering badly with the pain in my thigh - I can only describe the pain similar to cramp. Can you advise me
The pain in the thigh is due to sciatica and u need to discuss other pain management techniques with your doctor. You might need to increase ur pain medications until your condition stabilizes. The ankle swelling may be related to another problem. Your doctor may need to take a detailed hisotry and exmaination to detect a cause for that. Also the cramp like pain suggests you might as well have other reasons for the pain. You should discuss all these with your doctor.
Hope this helps.
