Swollen Achy Hands And Wrists, Sore Ankles, Numbness, Itchy Tingling And Recurring Bumps On Neck And Arms. All Tests Normal. History Of Getting Breast Implants. Side Effects?

Hi my query is in relation to a mystery illness I have had for the past two years.
My symptoms are swollen aching hands and wrists sore ankles aching shoulders, numbness in finger tips during sleep time. weird itchy tingling on the skin in the middle of my back and tiny skin coloured bums that come and go on my neck and inside of my arms.
Of course I went to my GP many times and had many, many blood tests for everything from rheumatoid arthritis to lupus, lime disease, hepatitis, cancer and many, many more. The Doctor sent me to a Rheumatoid specialist and I had numerous tests there but still nothing.
I did get breast implants 5 years ago and I do wonder if they are the cause, although they are saline.
I am a healthy looking active 38 year old I am a PCA nurse and I am finding the swelling and aching interfering with my abilities in the work place. I need to get to the bottom of this illness as its the only thing that is stopping me leading a happy life. Kind regards Ilsa.

Hi Ilsa,

Thank you for your query.

I can understand your concern and anxiety. The symptoms are not a side effect of the implants. Except for sore ankles most of your complaints may be due to cervical spondylosis. I suggest that you get yourself examined by an orthopedic surgeon and seek some physiotherapy which should help you.

I hope I have answered your query to your satisfaction.

Wishing you an early recovery.
