Swelling In The Underarm, Not Painful, Have Dull Ache With Burning Sensation From Arm To Wrist, Fatigue And Mild Headache. What Is The Cause?

Hello, I have had a pain in my left arm like a dull ache down to my wrist and a burning sensation for about a week, I have noticed just outside of my underarm , a large swelling that stands out unlike the right side. It is not painful or hard more like a soft swelling lump. It almost feels like a gland , and looks like I am fatter under my arm on one side than the other? I am 38 years old. For the past few days I had a slight headache and feel tired.

General Surgeon 's  Response
hello, firstly i would like to know whether you are a male or female, and seconly is this associated wiith any neck pain and whether this pain in the arm is intermittent or present alwaz. any history of fever in the last week? and difficulty in using that arm to do normal work, like loss of strength and any other previous medical history, From the information you have provided, the chances are nerve involvement, early cervical spondilitis to be ruled out also your underarms have to be examined to determine whether it is a lymphnode or just axillary tail enlargement which is common in ladies, assuming you are1. you also need to do your routine blood counts and sugars need to be checked too. Most likely haigh chances of cervical problem with axillary tail enlargement, best is to consult nearest surgeon who needs to examine you and ll give you appropriate medications. till then its best if you can do neck and shoulder exercises, consume lot of fluids. regualar exercise for fitness is also recomended. but first get yourself checked by a surgeon as soon as possible. take care
