Swelling in neck, obstruction in throat after meals. What could that be?

Hi! I m a 29 year Old female living in the UK. From a past few days I m having trouble with my neck . I feel that whenever I eat, it gets swelled up and it feels as if something is stuck in my throat and is not going down. It stays there for 3-4 hours then i get a bit of a relief and then again after another meal the same thing happens again. I ve noticed that its usually worse when i eat hard food like cucumber, melon etc. What could that be?

Welcome in H.C.M.
I have gone through your query regarding feeling of obstruction in swallowing solid food items. You have not told about other associated problems as- pain in throat, irritation or coughing, any change in voice, belching etc.

Now I consider as you have only feeling of obstruction in throat during swallowing solid food and no other problem in throat. It seems you may be having-
(1) GERD.
(2) Esophageal stenosis.
(3) Mediastinal pathology giving external pressure over esophagus.
You are advice to take tab Pantoprazole 40 mg daily for one week. if you don't get response than go for upper G.I. endoscopy and C.T. thorax to make the final diagnosis.

with Regards.
