Swelling, Constant Nagging Pain In Right Lower Abdomen, Lower Back Pain. Help From Food Intake And Pantocid Tablets. Other Medication?

Dear Sir,

I have swelling in the right lower abdominal region and lower back pain for the past 6 months. The pain will be reduced once I take some food. But will recurr back once I feel hungry. There will be constant nagging pain in the abdomen. Last week onwards I am taking pantocid tablets (one in the morning) as prescribed by the doctor. But it gave some relief though the pain continues to be there. Can you kindly suggest some more medicines need to be taken if there is some bacterial infection?

Hello,
Thanks for the query to H.C.M. Forum.
I would come up with these possibilities with pain in the right lower abdominal region, these includes.
1 Tumor on the right side large intestine as you mentioned that pain subsides with pantoprazole , not complete cure. Diagnosis can be confirmed by colonoscopy examination It might also help by physical examination to rule out any tumor on right flank.
2 Stone in right kidney, diagnosis can be confirmed by ultrasound of kidney area.
3 Right appendicular lump , as you mentioned that pain is since 6 months . Diagnosis can be confirmed by ultrasound abdomen.
In my opinion consult a physician and get his opinion as pain is from last six month.
Don't ignore it .
Good luck. Dr. HET
