My mother (63) has extreme swelling, redness, hotness, on her calf. It is purple in spots. Her ankle is also swollen, and is red. Her skin is tight and itchy. It feels like bees are stinging her and she gets jolts that feel like electric shock. She has had multiple dopplars, and she has no clots. Add to this she has dry mouth, loss of appetite, lack of fluids exiting (either through sweating or urination). She has a history of angina and has had two stents in her heart. Her leg feels better when she walks and moves, but when she sits for work, it gets worse. She is on multiple medications through her myriad doctors (cardiologist, GP, vein specialist). She is taking aspirin, heparin (if they still have her on that, not 100% sure), diuretics, and a variety of medicines for plaque and heart-related issues, reflux (she has Barrett s Esophagus). I know that is not a good, complete list of her medications, but I don t know them all. She takes about 14 pills a day. Her doctors don t seem to be able to pinpoint and help her issues, and she is in so much pain with her leg. She said her nerve endings just shoot up and down her leg. She has a pain-type medicine for the nerve endings that she was given when she had a shingles outbreak on her face. Thank you so much for any thoughts you may have!
