Swelling And Pain Over Prominent Vein In The Palm, Pain Radiating To Wrist, No Relief With Ibuprofen. Advise?
My 19 year old son has a prominent vein in the palm of his hand . It has been there for years and has never caused an issue. Today, it is more swollen and very painful. He denies doing anything to injur the area. The pain goes across the palm and is extending to the wrist . He s tried ibuprofen and its not touching the pain.

it could be phlebitis in already distended vein or may be some thrombosis. do you Doppler sonography to rule out any venous pathology.
