Swelling And Leg Covered By Kind Of Varicose Veins. History Of Being Hit By Soccer Ball. No Pain. Relief From Support Stockings. On Coumadian. Surgery Possible?
About 3 months ago I was hit in my right leg by a soccer ball. After that in the spot I had a big buise and swelling. Ever since I can see my leg all covered by "varicose veins"? and my leg every day get swollen in that spot and all around my leg - like a ring. There is no pain but it is very ugly and I feel embarrassed. I am wearing support stockings which works a little but if I take them off the leg turns swollen again. My concern is that I am in Coumadin and I am not sure if I can have surgery or else. Thanks
Hi, It seems that due to hard impact there might be having hematoma and some soft tissue injury. Go for one course of antibiotic and anti-inflammatory medicines course after consulting your doctor. Apply ice pack 2-3 times a day.If there is no improvement then consult orthopedic surgeon to rule out Osteomyelitis. Ok and take care.
