Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Dear Doctor The protein total in spot urine test (dye binding) is about 166 mg/dl. What are the ways to reduce the level in the body. I am aged 72. My creatinine -serum /plasma is 1.73 mg/dl. What are the restrictions in the food habit that I should follow. I will be pleased to hear from you. Thanks & Regards T. S.Kalyanasunderam
Creatinine is used mainly to assess kidney function and protein in the urine is also a reflection of kidney disease.
You would need to control and treat any conditions that may be affecting kidney function eg diabetes, hypertension If you have either of these conditions then you need to tightly control to prevent any worsening.
I hope this helps
