Suggest Ways To Prevent Infection After Injury To Toe

I ripped off most of my toenail moving furniture. It was re - inserted at the ER. What s the best way to treat it so there s no infection? Can I use iodine? Can I soak in Epsom salt? Is it okay to take baths daily? ER said antibiotic ointment. Can I put it under the nail? Also said soap and water but doesn t seem enough to me.

The best way to prevent infection is first of all to maintain strict aseptic condition at your toenail along with you have to take some antibiotic as suggested correctly by your doctor. You can use povidine iodine ointment and can take bath daily also. You have to use neosporin powder over the injury site and take some painkiller like tab combiflam if pain is there. Don't think of so much you and your nail will be fine soon.
