Suggest Ways To Avoid Miscarriage During Pregnancy

hi doctor, I had miscarriage 2 times , first miscarriage in dec 13 2014 ( around 9 weeks pregnant) and another in May 13 2015 ( around 11 weeks pregnant)..PLease guide me what I need to do to avoid this in future. second pregnancy : took seven seas tablet for two months before conceiving, then took ferrous sulphate tablet (2 tablets per day + pregnacare tablet) as per doctor advice when I was at 8th week pregnancy. I went for a scan when I was at 7 weeks and 5 days, was able to see heart beat and foetus measured around 15mm. Two days back bleeding started and had a scan it looks like heart beat stopped and foetus growth is only 17 mm for 11 weeks pregnant When I missed my period I started getting pain in my lower hip and shoulder , I had this same problem in my first pregnancy it continues till 6 weeks..whether that could be a problem for my miscarriage .. Please let me know what test do I need to take , after how many months can I plan for my next conceive. It is painful , I just pray God no one should get this problem in future.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,
I am sorry that you have had this problem. About 10-20% of pregnancies end in miscarriage. I know this is frightening but there is a very good chance that your next pregnancy will be normal. Here are the best things you can do to try for your next pregnancy. Take a prenatal vitamin daily. See your obstetrician to make sure you are healthy. Walk daily for at least 30 minutes. Drink at least 2 liters of water daily. Maintain a healthy body weight. Eat a healthy diet with lots of fresh fruits, vegetables and whole grains. Avoid fast food, processed food and sodas.
I wish you a successful pregnancy
