Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I had a gastric bypass with anastomotic stricture. had balloon dilatation x3 with no luck at the jejunum. they want to place a stent there for 3 months . I am afraid I am making the wrong decision. If the outcome is not good, i am looking at another bypass. I am thinking is it possible to just do a reconnect at the surgical area and a stent placed temporary.? So confused . Do you have any information that will give me some peace of mind on stents...
HI Well come to HCM If you have gone through the gastric bypass, and developed the stricter, dilatation done with balloon don but did not worked, then the best option would be stent, going for second surgery is not good idea because of the fibrosisanastomosis would not be that much easy and result oriented, stent is the best option and this would give nice result, hope this information helps, take care.
