Suggest Treatments For Pneumonia With Hb=11.7

my husband got admitted to Max for 22 days because of frequent fever. The doctors came to the conclusion of boop i.e. a pneumonia. Now, he is at home with hb=11.7 and tlc =17.3. He gets fever of 99 once a day. He is on steriod medrol from last two months. Please advise

I can understand your concern.
He is taking Medrol (methyl prednisone). It is steroid. And it should not be given intramuscular acute infection like pneumonia.
Steroid can worsen the underlying infection because it is immunosuppressive in nature.
He is not getting better and has fever daily.
So his infection is not improving.
So in my opinion, he should get done Bronchoscopy and BAL (bronchoalveolar lavage) culture and sensitivity report.
Culture report will isolate the causative organism and sensitivity report will guide about effective antibiotic treatment.
With this kind of approach, he will improve faster and his pneumonia will recover.
