OBGYN 's  Response
Hello,
Thanks for sharing your health concern with us. You can wait for a week after your expected date to see your period. If you do not see it, please see a specialist for proper appraisal of the situation before you start the hormone course for induction of the period. Usually, the dosage of the medication depends on the duration, body weight and often twice a day is sufficient. Higher doses may be needed with overweight/obese persons. In such cases, 5 mg. thrice a day is prescribed for 5-7 days. Withdrawal bleeding is expected 3-7 days after completion of the treatment. Hope this helps.
