Suggest Treatment To Cure Allergic Skin Rash On Face
Hi, I work offshore and most time live in container cabins with wooden walls. Whenever i move in, after a period of about 10 days i get a rash all over my face, the rash is just on my face and nowhere else on my body.Could black mold hidden somewhere behind the wooden panel walls be the cause of the rash on my face. Please what can i do to avoid it as i take prednisone to rid me of the rashes but prolonged use could be dangerous. Please advise. Thanks
Hi. As per your case history of allergic reaction on face, my treatment advice is - 1. Avoid sun exposure and use a good sunscreen lotion with spf more than 30. 2. Avoid using any new products like soap or perfume as it may worsen the condition. 3. Take an antihistamine medication like levocetrizine twice daily for 7-10 days. 4. Apply a mild antibiotic plus steroid cream like fusiderm-b cream twice daily on it. 5. Other treatment options are oral antibiotics, oral steroid taken only after consulting a dermatologist.
Thanks. Dr. Harshit bhachech. MBBS, DDVL.
