Suggest Treatment For Yeast Infection And Itchiness In The Labia Majora

Hi, I am wondering if a yeast infection treatment would help to alleviate an STI? Last month I woke up to severe itching and burning around my labia and was given a typical yeast infection treatment. This month I ve noticed a strange growth outside of my vagina, a long bumpy ridge has formed beside the lips and I m not sure what has caused it. There is not itching and it isn t painful to the touch.

Hello. Thank you for writing to us

I would like to rule out a possibility of Genital warts/ Condyloma acuminata. This seems unrelated to a yeast infection.
Genital warts are caused by Human Papilloma Virus/ HPV. It is a Sexually transmitted infection..
The infection is usually acquired by close/ intimate contact with an infected sexual partner.
I would have liked to know whether are you sexually active? If yes, with single or multiple sexual partners?
Genital warts may present as a asymptomatic growth on genital mucosal surface.
Genital warts are skin colored, soft to firm, and may have a cauliflower like surface.
The diagnosis is pity obvious on clinical examination.
I suggest that you visit a dermatologist or a venereologist in your region for a confirmatory diagnosis.
Treatment of a confirmed genital wart would include either freezing or Co 2 Laser ablation.
Topical imiquimod and topical podophyllin are also treatment options for a genital wart.

Regards
